PUTS THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE
The Last Few Months
The Last few months have been crazy to say the least.
June-July. We were consumed with little league all stars. Ryne made the team for the 4th time and Dad was the manager. Uncle Rich was one of the coaches. Mom was team mom and Conner was the mascot. We had a great run at the District Championship playing in the finals for only the second time in Henderson Little League history. We came up one game short of going to state. We were so proud of Ryne; he hit 3 home runs in the tourney. His first was a GRAND SLAM and it was his first ever that he hit over the fence.
We spent the Fourth at home with friends as we were unable to get up to Kanaraville because of All Stars. We had a good time with the Reams and our family. We swam, ate lots of food and had some fireworks in the front yard.
In August as we have done every year since Chrissy past away, we took a trip to Disneyland. This was her favorite thing to do, and we love to go. This year we went a week earlier and went to San Diego as well. Grandma and Grandpa went with us and the Reams met up with us in Anaheim for Disneyland. We had a blast. We sure miss Chrissy allot, it is especially hard at this time.
September/October/November. Football, Baseball, back to School, and did I say baseball? Yeah we put allot of time and money into Ryne playing sports, especially baseball, but you know what? He is a straight A student (he did get a B in 2nd grade); he is on the Student Council and a member of the National Jr. Honor Society. He knows he can do what he wants as long as is a good student and an even better citizen. He makes us proud. Ryne began 7th grade at Brown Middle School, as said earlier, he is a great student. Conner went back to Grandma D’s for babysitting. He needed a backpack and lunchbox too. He is getting really big and INDEPENDANT. Football was a blast this year. Ryne’s team, the Mad Dogs went undefeated and won the championship. He was the quarterback and played defensive back on defense. He had an awesome year and has turned into a leader on the field. Conner is ready to play as well, he is gonna be a bruiser.
Halloween was spent between St.George, Mesquite and home. Ryne played baseball that weekend ad because Utah mostly does their trick or treating on Saturday, Conner was able to go twice. He went with some of the other little brothers and sisters from our ball team. He had a blast, he dressed up as Spiderman, and he got ALLOT of candy. We also had the opportunity again to go to southern California and raise money for the Forest Service Firefighters lost 4 years ago in the Esperanza Fire. We played ball of course, and had a blast with our friends. We spent Thanksgiving at home, and boy was it cold. We played baseball all weekend long and the boys played in the championship game. Ryne had a great tourney and Mom, Dad, and Bubba froze. We had 17 family and friends over for dinner. It was a blast. We ate too much, watched and played football and then played some family favorite games afterwards.
Now is time to gear up for Conner’s 3rd birthday and Christmas. Lights are on the house outside, trees are going up and it is COLD, COLD, COLD!!!!!!!!! We are so grateful this time of year for the families and the friends that we have in our lives. We value their friendship as much as anything. Sometimes we take friends and family for granted and forget to thank them for being in our lives. We should always remember them, past and present. We remember our Angel at this time of year too. And, YES, it is difficult to live without Chrissy, but we are encouraged, that if live the right way we can be with her again. So, at this time of the year, if you have been offended, had your feelings hurt, been un-friended from FACEBOOK, or whatever has you down. Remember the reason for the season, and remember we will all be held accountable for OUR actions. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year
